There are two common problems faced by the Android phone or tablet user. The first one is on some Android phones; there are some files that can’t be downloaded from the internet when using the browser. When the user tries to download it, the Android system says, “content is not supported.” The second problem is they unable download attachments from Gmail application for certain kind of files.
In this article, we will teach you how to download attachments and “content is not supported†files on android. To download Gmail Attachment, you can do it by opening your email using the internet browser and download the attachment as usual, just like when using PC desktop. However, I understand that it is not so practical doing this way, so we can use another way, which is installing third party application than can do the job.
The application name is “Download All Files.” With this application, we can download any files, either using Gmail application or using Internet browser application. Here is how to do it:
- First, install “Download All Files†application from Android Market.
- After the application has been installed, now you can click at the download link > it will show pop-up menu that will give you the selection which application you want to use to handle the task > choose the “Download All files” application.
To download attachment from Gmail Application, what you have to do is open the email, then clicking the “Preview†button. For example, if the attachment is a Microsoft Word document, when I click the preview button, it will show a pop-up menu as below:
Select the “Download All Files†to start download the attachment without opening it first. Without this application, usually the Android users are unable to download RAR, ZIP, EXE, MP3 files from the browser or from Gmail application. But with it, as far as I know, now you can download any type of files.
